Does your pc also consumes too much data while
connected to your mobile data? The same problem happens with me sometime ago.
So I decided to share this info with you which may help you. This is serious
problem if you have very limited data. So read it complete to know what is its
solution. In this post I will share some solutions to control data usage.
1. Disable Microsoft
OneDrive
Microsoft one drive is basically a cloud storage software. Which automatically uploads all your data to the cloud. If you have any videos or photos with high quality uses more data while moving in cloud storage. When you connect your mobile data to pc, it starts moving in cloud it maybe a reason of high data consume. Follow the steps below to disable Microsoft OneDrive.
STEP 1:- PRESS
CTRL+ALT+DELETE AND GO TO TASK MANAGER
STEP 2:- GO TO STARTUP
(IF NOT SHOWING THEN CLICK ON MORE DETAILES AT BOTTOM)
STEP 3:- DISABLE
MICROSOFT ONEDRIVE FROM LIST
2. Disable Windows update
You have to disable your windows auto
updates. And if you want to update you can manually check from settings. When
you connect your data to pc your windows start updating automatically. And it
consumes to much data. You batter knows that how much data a windows update
requires. Around 2-3 GB, which will definitely finish your daily quota. Follow
the steps below to disable windows auto update.
STEP 1:- CLICK RIGHT
ON MOUSE AT MY PC AND GO TO MANAGE
STEP 2:- GO TO
SERVICES AND APPLICATION AND CLICK ON SERVICES
STEP 3:- SEARCH WINDOWS UPDATE IN W SERIES AND DISABLE AND CLICK ON STOP AND APPLY IT.
3. On Metered Connection
Metered connection proves that
you have limited data. You don’t have to set limit there. So Windows will
restrict unnecessary sources to restrict data. And also working software will
consume less data. Follow the steps below to turn on Metered connection.
FOR THIS SETTING YOU HAVE TO CONNECT YOUR PC TO WIFI
STEP 1:- GO TO SETTINGS AND CLICK ON NETWORK & INTERNET
STEP 2:- GO TO WIFI AND CLICK ON PROPERTIES OF YOUR CONNECTED NETWORK
STEP 3:- SCROLL DOWN AND FIND METERED CONNECTION AND TURN IT ON
4.Turn off Microsoft Store Auto-Updates
On every Windows 10 PC, default
Windows app or apps you manually install from the Microsoft Store are set to
get updated automatically as soon as there’s new version available. When your
Microsoft store’s auto update is on, app will start updating automatically when
you connect to the internet. Turn off auto update and manually update only
necessary apps to save your data. Follow the below steps to turn it off.
STEP 1:- GO TO MICROSOFT STORE AND GO TO SETTINGS
STEP 2:-TURN OF AUTO UPDATES
5.Disable Settings Synchronization
Host Process for Setting
Synchronization is a process which synchronize all your system settings with
your other devices in which you have Microsoft account. While this is a
particularly good feature, it consumes your data and mostly you don’t need it all
time. So batter you turn it off to save your data. Follow below steps to turn
it off.
STEP 1:- GO TO SETTINGS AND CLICK ON ACCOUNTS
STEP 2:- CLICK ON SYNC YOUR SETTINGS
STEP 3:- TURN IT OFF
AND THE FINAL STEP AFTER ALL PROCESS IS TO RESTART YOUR PC. AND CHECK
IT.
