| WHAT IS VIRTUAL RAM? |
You may have
heard so much about memory in your technical term. It must be good so that your
Computer or any other device work better. So today we will discuss about
virtual memory. Everyone use computer there are two components RAM and ROM, we
will discuss about it in any other post. There is also a memory including RAM
and ROM, which is very important. The name of this memory is Virtual memory.
today we will give you all information about Virtual memory, let’s start.
WHAT IS VIRTUAL MEMORY?
To do Multiprocessing
Task in computer, RAM is must. Multiprocessing means to open so many programs
and applications at time. Like any browser, Photoshop, Microsoft word etc. as
much as we open different apps in PC, RAM got filled up while opening them. Sometimes
RAM storage fills up completely because of running this apps. After this, not a
single app or software can be run in Computer. So in this situation Computer
uses Virtual memory. Virtual memory takes space of Hard disk and use it as
RAM’s alternative tasks. Means Virtual memory provide separate RAM to Computer.
Which is totally different from Physical RAM. This is different because
Computer Ram is fixed in it which is hard ware, but virtual memory is software.
So basically
the use of Virtual memory is, when there is less space for Ram at a time we can
use Virtual memory to fulfil need. Every computer has limited RAM size. When we
open more than one applications at a time, it consumes full RAM. And because of
it System’s speed got decrease. That time Virtual memory sends RAM’s data to
Hard Disk. This helps to free up RAM and make Computer’s performance batter.
HOW VIRTUAL MEMORY WORKS?
When Computer’s
RAM start filling up fast, then Computer’s operating system start checking of
those Applications and file which we have opened in our system. And those files
which are minimized, means on which user is not working, then computer transfer
that ram data in virtual RAM with the help of paging files. When data is transferring
from Physical memory to Virtual Memory, that time OS divide those Application’s
Program in Page file and with every page file it join fixed number address with
that file. So to transfer data computer look at that areas which are not recently
used. And copy them in Hard disk’s virtual memory.
Every page
file groups up in hard disk. This help in cleaning RAM and on which App the
user is working in present will run smoothly. Also with it any new will load
easily. So when we open those apps which we have minimized, that time files
which were transfer, OS will copy its address and sent it to RAM. Because of
which we can work on that particular app smoothly. OS will not load files from
Hard disk to RAM until they are not necessary.
This process increases RAM size in Computer. So when we are running more than one program, less RAM problem will not affect the Computer. Virtual memory is not Computer’s Physical memory, it is a technique which gives permission to execute a large program. Which not stored in RAM. Virtual memory is a part of operating system which helps to fulfil RAM’s work. Also those applications which you are not able to access, you can easily access them after using virtual ram.

Virtual memory
was made when Physical Ram was too much expensive. And because of limited Ram
in Computer, it fills very quick. Specially when we are running multiple
Programs at a time. With the help of virtual ram we can increase our RAM more
than twice. It helps to increase Computer’s Ram, and its biggest benefit is
that Programmers can write long and long programs. Because virtual memory Is
bigger in compare to Physical memory. This is best for those who wants to save
money and also want to increase RAM.
